A Firebird´s Love

Prolog:
Magical and brightly glowing in red, orange and yellow light like a fire just past the first flame.
She is the one from a faraway land, both blessing and bringer of doom to me, her captor.
She is my firebird – divine, immortal and invincible.
The mystery of her feathers has illuminated hearts of men for many years.

The sun is low
But her plumage glows
Her song sterns the tide
She´s creations pride

Firebird:
Don’t hold on me
Please let me go
And I will shine on
Though you hurt me so
Don´t keep me in chains
Because you know
I still burn for you
But I have to go

Her feathers glow
And they want cease
If you find one
She´s sapped by disease
A disease called love
That makes her weak
Over and above
But shining from the peak

Firebird:
Don’t hold on me
Please let me go
And I will shine on
Though you hurt me so
Don´t keep me in chains
Because you know
I still burn for you
But I have to go

No more – feathers to give
No more – flame to live
No memories – do remain
No more – loss to sustain

Forgive me for what I did to you
I didn´t mean to hurt you so
Tell me that it´s not to late
I am begging you to stay

Possessed by men
But she has to be free
To let the land bloom
Bright as it can be

Her grudge is her plumage
Her divinity and will
To hold her, men would damage
Destroy and kill

Firebird:
Don’t hold on me
Please let me go
And I will shine on
Though you hurt me so
Don´t keep me in chains
Because you know
I still burn for you
But I have to go

Epilog:
At the end of her life she builds herself a nest that she then ignites. Both, nest and bird are
reduced to ashes, from which a new bird arises.
A new love
